Intensive Family Preservation

The Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) program offers an intensive level of casework and a broad spectrum of support services to families in crisis for six months duration, and up to nine months where needed.

The service works closely with Family and Community Service (FaCS) Case Workers and is targeted at children who are at risk of removal from their families, but where an assessment is made that there is a reasonable prospect of improvement within the family with the right support. The Case Worker will work with the FaCS Case Worker and the family to develop a case plan which aims to support the family and focuses on the child/children’s best interest to remain with their family.

The IFP Program is designed to work with families in crisis, whose children are at risk of removal and placement in Out Of Home Care. The IFP program offers intensive support with home visits up to three times per week with 24/7 on call support from a Case Worker. Referrals are made by FaCS.
